This past Sunday, we started at the very beginning (queue Do Re Mi).
Genesis chapter one, Creation.
The Main Ideas:
WHO made the world (God).
HOW God made everything (By speaking, not through violence. Through order, not chaos).
And WHY God made the world (to be a place that works in ways that match who God is--Goodness, love, joy, justice).
Also, a little bit about WHY God made people (more on that next week!).
In case you missed it:
We're starting a new program by Meredith Anne Miller. She knows about kids and she knows the Bible. Her book, Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn’t Have to Heal From, is available where books are sold. I just started reading it, but have been following and learning from her Kids + Faith Substack for a long time!
The fun part is that there is a podcast called Ask Away that goes along with what we'll be learning in Little Church. Ask Away is a podcast where kids can ask anything about the Bible. Join Meredith Miller as she and her kids explore a Bible Story and then talk about questions sent in by kid-listeners!
There is an episode about Creation and another with kids' questions. They are short episodes, great for car rides with kids!
