Easter 5 - We Are Connected

This Sunday we will learn how our community at St. Peter's and all the church in the world are connected through Jesus! He is the vine, we are the branches. If you are outside in nature, notice any fruit or flowers growing. If we cut off that branch, would it be able to grow a fruit or a flower? No. So in the same way, we want to stay connected to Jesus and ultimately to each other in order to get support and nourishment!

We'll use yarn to illustrate how we can each be our own little ball of yarn, alone and disconnected. But if we all hold onto the same strand, we are a connected circle! Jesus is like the yarn, holding us all together. There's always enough room in Jesus' circle to invite others to join, as well.

Lesson Recap:  John 15:1-8 We are Connected

At home (bedtime, car rides, mealtime etc.):

Pray: Loving God, thank you for showing us we are all connected by you. Amen.

Wonder Together-

• I wonder how it feels to be all alone, not connected to anyone?

• I wonder who the yarn was today?

• I wonder if you can think of ways Jesus connects us?

• I wonder how we can welcome others into our circle?

• I wonder what the most important part of this story is.
