  • What kind of church are you?
St. Peter's is an Episcopal Church, which can take many expressions. Here, you will find a warm episcopal community committed to welcoming everyone with open arms. Located on Skidaway Island in Savannah, GA, our church is a sanctuary of spiritual growth, fellowship, and inspired worship. From vibrant Sunday services to meaningful community activities, we strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals and families can connect and grow in their faith. Whether you are a longtime churchgoer or exploring spirituality for the first time, all are welcome here. Read more about the Episcopal Church at episcopalchurch.org/aboutus.
  • What should I wear?
On regular Sundays you will see a variety of dress, from sport coats and dresses to polo shirts and tennis attire. On a high feast day like Easter, most people will wear their Sunday best. Although the point is not what you wear on the outside, the goal is for you to feel comfortable on the inside when you are at church.
  • Where are you located?
St. Peter's is on Skidaway Island in Savannah, GA. It is about twenty minutes from downtown. The church is across the street from the Skidaway Village Publix parking lot and Wells Fargo Bank. The address is 3 West Ridge Road, Savannah, GA 31411.
  • Where should I park?
When pulling into the front of the church property, you'll see several handicapped spots and a circle with a covered breezeway where you may drop off anyone who may need assistance. The large parking lot is around the back of the building with plenty of spots. It also has handicapped parking. There will be signs directing you once you get to the building.
  • What about kids?
St. Peter's is a church for kids of all ages. Children are welcome at all of our gatherings. There are always activity bags in Big Church near the entrances. As an usher or greeter if you need assistance. We have programming for kids ages baby through twelve years old at our 10:15 AM services. The Nursery can be found in the Education hallway. Greeters and Ushers can help you find it if it's your first time. Two Safe Church certified and background checked nursery attendants are always available for babies-age 4. Little Church is what we call our Children's Chapel during the 10:15 service. Ages 5-12 may join the procession in the back of the church. They go out with the Children's Minister and another (Safe Church) helper for a story, prayer, wondering, and response. The stories are told in the style of Godly Play. The group returns to Big Church during the Peace so they are present for the Eucharist.
  • What kind of music can I expect at St. Peter's?
Music at St. Peter's Church is an integral part of our liturgical experience. For the most part, Sunday morning music is traditional with hymns from the Hymnal 1982 led by the Chancel choir and organ. The talented musicians involved in this ministry attend St. Peter's, with occasional visiting musicians from the community. A diverse range of musical styles and that enhance our liturgical services. You can expect a blend of traditional hymns, choral anthems, and more. Our music program is designed to inspire, uplift, and unite our congregation, making every service a spiritually enriching experience.
